Introductory Training for Linux
This couse is aimed towards people who have little or no prior experience of Linux (or any other Unix).
By the end of the course attendees will be able to use Linux on a desktop machine for every day office tasks.
This course covers the following topics :
- Linux history
- Linux architecture (filesystem layout etc)
- An Introduction to the Command Line
- How to install Linux
- How to perform basic tasks (access networked resources (printers, file servers etc))
- How to use the Linux desktop
- OpenOffice usage
- Mail clients and Web browsing (Evolution/Thunderbird/Firefox)
